Every year Medieval English Theatre runs a conference meeting around the last Saturday in March, each time at a different venue and on a different topic in the study of early theatre.

The format varies, but usually consists of brief papers followed by informal discussion. Practical workshops and performances are often included. Papers delivered at the meeting may be invited for consideration for publication in the journal. Members of the Society are automatically on the mailing list for the meetings, and have a preferential attendance rate. We welcome postgraduate students and also non-members.

The 2018 meeting,
on the theme of Performance and its Urban Context,
will be on Saturday March 24th
at the University of Sheffield,
hosted by Charlotte Steenbrugge. Please send abstracts (no more than 200 words) of proposed papers to c.steenbrugge@sheffield.ac.uk by Tuesday 31 October 2017.

An archive of past meetings and their themes, with programmes from 2002 onwards, can be found via the drop-down menu above.

Conference secretary: Sue Niebrzydowski, School of English, Bangor University, Gwynedd, LL57 2DG. E-mail: s.niebrzydowski@bangor.ac.uk
